Therefore if the men had seen the canary they would definitely know that Mrs. Wright had killed her husband. After the wives travel with their husbands to the crime scene and they have been shrugged off, as if they are foolish and unknowledgeable, but they reveal that they are more intelligent than the men because they discover the truth.
